&Beyond Yacht Charters. All-Inclusive Crewed Yachts Charters

On a Crewed Catamaran Charter, Will I Get to Pick the Crew?

When researching a vacation on a crewed catamaran charter, many people begin to wonder how they should go about selecting the crew they’d like to stay with. After all, you’re going to be on the yacht for a week or more… you want to make sure it’s a good fit, right?

You’re absolutely correct. On an all inclusive yacht charter, your crew will be with you the entire trip, not only operating the boat, but also leading you on shore excursions, taking you out snorkeling, and assisting you with an array of other activities over the course of your stay. You most definitely want to ensure you’re in the hands of professionals.

So how do you go about selecting a crewed catamaran charter?

Our best advice: Trust in a charter agency/brokerage to match you with the right boat + crew.

For us at &Beyond Yacht Charters, we strive to recruit and hire the best in the industry. The crews we place on our yachts have many years of experience in both hospitality and yachting. They also hold all of the requisite certifications in safety, yacht maintenance, and culinary arts. On top of that, we as a company conduct trainings throughout the year to keep our crews up to date on everything from mixology to the local area’s floral and fauna.

We match you with the best crew + yacht combo for your group.

When you book through a company like ours that works closely with all of the crews onboard our yachts, that means you don’t have to do the research. Simply communicate the needs and preferences of your group (traveling with young children, celebrating an engagement, avid divers, etc.) and we will match you with the best yacht + crew to ensure you have a vacation that goes smoothly and is a ton of fun.

All of our crews have bios on the individual yacht pages on our site, if you’d like to take a closer look. But we recommend that you give us what you’re looking for, and we’ll handle the rest.

We know that there’s nothing that can ruin a yacht charter vacation faster than an inexperienced, unprofessional crew. We take pride in ensuring that our crews will not only exceed your expectations, but will likely be your favorite part of your trip!

All Inclusive Yacht Charter Caribbean: Which Region Should I Choose?

With so many islands to choose from, how do you go about selecting a region to sail for your vacation? An all inclusive yacht charter in the Caribbean gives you a lot of options. While our home base is in the US Virgin Islands (and for good reason!), we can assist you in booking a charter wherever you’d like to visit. Here are a few of the most popular sailing regions to choose from, and what to consider.

All Inclusive Yacht Charter Caribbean: Regions

US Virgin Islands

This area consists of St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix. No passport is required for American citizens, and travel to and from is easy through the STT airport. There are many small islands and cays to hike, snorkel, and explore. St. Thomas and St. John are close to one another, with incredible shopping, beach bars, and restaurants throughout. St. Croix is a slightly longer sail away (which means visiting here is weather-dependent), with an even more laidback vibe.

Spanish Virgin Islands

This area consists of the small islands and cays off of Puerto Rico including Vieques and Culebra. No passport is required for American citizens, and travel to and from is easy through the SJU airport. These islands have an off-the-beaten-path feel, never crowded with tons of untouched nature for your adventures.

British Virgin Islands

This area consists of many small islands and cays, with the largest/most visited being Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, and Jost Van Dyke. A passport is required for everyone entering, including British citizens. Yacht charters here are easiest when they begin in the neighboring US Virgin Islands, so guests are able to fly in and out of the STT airport on St. Thomas, which is cheaper with more options in comparison to flying into the BVI. The BVI is home to many iconic beach bars, snorkel + diving sites, and incomparable beaches.

The Grenadines

This area consists of many small islands in between the larger islands of St. Vincent and Grenada. A passport is required to enter. Travel here can be accomplished through either the SVD or the GND airports. This island chain is incredibly picturesque and particularly great to visit during the summer/fall months, as they are located outside the hurricane belt. These islands are much quieter and less developed than the other regions, perfect for those looking for a serene escape.

The Bahamas

This area consists of a large chain of islands and cays including familiar favorites such as Abaco, Bimini, Eleuthera, Harbour Island, and more. Travel here is easy due to its close proximity to Miami through a number of airports. There are seemingly endless options here. All of the islands in this region are flat (so no hiking here) which means long stretches of beaches and aqua waters. This is also a great region for speciality diving such as shark diving and treasure hunting.

Why Yacht Charter Vacations Are Actually Cost Effective

Looking for a cost effective option for your next vacation? Look no further! Here’s why yacht charter vacations are surprisingly budget-friendly.

Yacht Charter Vacations are All-Inclusive

When most people hear the word “yacht,” they automatically think it’s going to be expensive. But in reality, when you realize everything that’s included in the charter rate, the value of this style of vacation becomes clear. Here are some of the things that are included in yacht charter vacations that you’d have to pay for a la carte elsewhere:

  • all chef-prepared meals
  • all snacks + treats
  • all drinks (yes, including alcohol!)
  • all water sports equipment + activities including stand up paddle boarding, SCUBA diving, kayaking, sea scooters, snorkeling, wakeboarding, and more.
  • a licensed Captain
  • a full-time crew member to assist the Captain, provide daily housekeeping, and lead guests on tours both in and out of the water

The dining on yacht charter vacations is a 5 star experience

When we say all meals are included, we’re not talking about simple sandwiches and pizza for dinner. Our yacht chefs have extensive training in the culinary arts and prepare meals on charter that you’d just as easily find in a luxury hotel restaurant. We source the highest quality ingredients, purchasing fresh, local produce and seafood whenever possible.

You can travel – and share costs – as a group

Our yachts can accommodate groups of anywhere between 2 – 10 people. All inclusive yacht charters are priced by the week, which means you’re able to split the costs between a group.

No hidden costs = a vacation that doesn’t blow your budget

When booking yacht charter vacations, everything is outlined and covered in advance. That means that there aren’t any surprise expenses that suddenly throw you well outside your budget once you’re already on the trip.

Private Yacht Caribbean Vacations: How to Book

Private yacht Caribbean vacations are the ultimate luxury escape. But if you’ve never been on one before, it may feel confusing as to how and where you go about booking yours. Do you need a travel agent? Is there a main booking website? How do you find the best deals?

Here are our top tips for how to book private yacht Caribbean vacations:

Get your yacht travel group together

Before you start looking into private yacht charter options, you’ll want to know how many people you’ll be traveling with. Why? Because that will determine the size yacht you’ll be looking for. Private yacht charters in the Caribbean can generally hold anywhere between 2 – 10 guests. Any more than that and you’ll need to coordinate multiple boats to travel as a flotilla.

Determine your Caribbean vacation travel dates (or general date range)

Do you have a specific week of the year that you’d like to go? Or are you open to options within a particular month? You’ll want to have an idea as to when you’d like to go, as certain times of the year are more popular than others in certain regions and require more advance planning.

when to book luxury yacht charter

Do some basic research, but find a private yacht expert to trust.

This is perhaps the most important thing to keep in mind. The internet is a wild sea of information, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all of the options. Even if you do find an individual private yacht charter to book, there are a lot of aspects that you’ll want to be aware of BEFORE you put down your deposit and book it. Finding an industry expert you can trust such as a yacht broker, or a specialized yacht consultant that covers many yachts for a reputable company, is your best choice. Our yacht consultant, Liza, represents not only all of the luxury yachts in our fleet, but she is also an experienced broker for yachts all over the world.

When you work with an expert, they can take in all of your travel details and wants/needs to then match you with the right boat and crew to ensure you have the vacation of a lifetime.
