About The US Virgin Islands

The US Virgin Islands consist of 3 main islands and 50+ cays located to the east of Puerto Rico. 

The main islands of the USVI include St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix. (Our yacht charters primarily take place in between St. Thomas and St. John; St. Croix is by request only and weather dependent.) Other smaller islands and cays you may have also heard of include Water Island, Lovango Cay, and Hassel Island, among many more.  

Chartering one of our fully crewed yachts in the USVI gives you the opportunity to experience the destination to the fullest.

Rather than being anchored to one spot as you would be staying in a hotel or villa, you’ll be able to see different beaches, coves, and cays each and every day of your vacation. The seas are calm and the sailing here is idyllic, making it a true pleasure to island hop around the archipelago.

Depending on your interests and preferences, there are countless ways you can spend a week in the USVI—you can be as active or as leisurely as you desire.

Adventure seekers can partake in endless water sports and hiking in the Virgin Islands National Park. A Sample USVI Yacht Charter Itinerary

Here’s what one of our luxury yacht charters could do with a pick-up & drop off in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas with 7 nights onboard in between. This is an example of a perfectly relaxed, yet adventure-filled loop through the US Virgin Islands.

Day 1

Charlotte Amalie, STT

Water Island

Highlights:

  • Meet your yacht’s crew in Yacht Haven Grande Marina
  • Enjoy a scenic sail along downtown Charlotte Amalie
  • Visit Honeymoon Beach on Water Island
  • Enjoy cocktails on the beach at Dinghy’s Beach Bar, float in the sea, or enjoy beach sports on the shore
  • Dinner onboard your yacht

Mooring: Honeymoon Beach moorings or anchorages.

Water Island

Magen’s Bay, St. Thomas

Highlights:

  • Sail along the west side of St. Thomas, stopping to snorkel along the way
  • Beach day at one of the world’s “most beautiful beaches” Magen’s Bay
  • Use your yacht’s abundant water sports toys in the perfectly calm bay
  • Enjoy a decadent meal ashore at The Old Stone Farmhouse 

Mooring: Magen’s Bay moorings or anchorages

Magen’s Bay, St. Thomas

Lovango Cay

Highlights:

  • Sail from Magen’s Bay along the north side of St. Thomas
  • Stop for lunch and a snorkel at Coki Beach
  • Sail to Lovango Cay
  • Enjoy the beach club for pool time, sunset snacks, and shopping on Lovango Cay
  • Dinner onboard your yacht

Mooring: Anchorage in between Lovango Cay & Congo Cay

Lovango Cay

Maho Bay & Leinster Bay, St. John

Highlights:

  • Sail to Maho Bay, St. John
  • Snorkel with the abundant sea turtles in this protected bay
  • Walk the beach and enjoy cocktails & lunch at Maho Crossroads
  • Move on to Leinster Bay, where you can snorkel the thriving snorkel spot, Waterlemon Cay, and take a hike along the historical ruins of Annaberg Sugar Plantation
  • Dinner onboard your yacht

  • Sail along the shores of St. John to Coral Bay

  • Dinner onboard your yacht

  • Sunrise hike to Rams Head

  • Sunset drinks & live music up at the Windmill 
  • Enjoy dinner in Cruz Bay
